I'm Grace, a creative based in Big Sky, Montana but born and raised in the ever-so-majestic rolling corn and soybean fields of LaSalle-Peru, Illinois. I’ve got big aspirations, dozens of interests, a rock-solid work ethic, and the passion it takes to be a valuable addition to your team/community.
I have an Associate of Arts degree and was accepted into some pretty prestigious colleges as a transfer student inlcuding UNC-Chapel Hill (Go Tarheels!) and Hillsdale College (“Virtus tentamine gaudet”). However, I made the tough decision to take a gap year before returning to school. If you want to hear more about that, check out this epic link: My Gap Year
When I am not working, I am finding new endeavors to expand my horizons, build new skill sets, and explore new creative outlets. A few of these endeavors include painting, playing guitar, swing and line dancing, sewing, writing poetry and prose, and creating pet projects like this website.I am very goal-oriented, so allow me to introduce you to my 3-year plan:
- Educational Plans: Go back to college (after my gap year is over) to pursue a Music Business degree with the hopes of collecting many diverse skills along the way such as live event photography/videography and personal styling/image consulting that I can use to begin a career in the touring industry upon graduation AND/OR start head-first in the industry by taking odd jobs and apprenticeships to learn my way in naturally.
- Personal Plans: Continue learning guitar, sewing, swing dancing, and Western riding to further challenge my brain to seek out long-term delayed gratification rather than short-term pleasure-seeking patterns that social media has ingrained in us, as well as to develop into a more well-rounded individual with useful skills that I can then pass along to others. (Included in this goal is the ambition to perform at one open mic.)
- Career Plans: Upon graduation (or otherwise), work with a touring band/artist and become a part of the magic of live events, helping bring those electric moments that made me fall in love with concerts to other people so they can experience the same. I want to play a role in crafting that unique experience for both the artist and the audience, drawing upon the music genre, personal look of the artist, and vibe of the overall fanbase.

One Girl. Many Hats.
One thing about me: I am the local “hat person” in my hometown. A good hat completes any outfit, but I can never settle on just one to wear. My wardrobe has included cowboy hats, hard hats, rally cross helmets, and a good thinking cap on the days I’m locked into a particularly complex project.
When I am not at work, I can often be found in my truck parked on some old dirt road, or sitting on a log tucked in the forest, writing poetry and prose. As I’ve taken time in between receiving my associate’s degree and returning to school for a bachelor’s, I’ve found myself becoming more introspective examining a wide range of topics from personal direction and purpose, to love and loss, to religion and the afterlife.
To be whirled into my headspace through my writing, click here.
I also enjoy working on other more tangible projects such as sewing and styling clothes. I’ve always been interested in the psychology behind our images and how others perceive us based on the way we present ourselves aesthetically.
A handful of these projects can be found here.
A hat for every occasion.
